Who is a walk-in tub actually right for?
Anyone for whom stepping over a standard tub wall has become difficult or unsafe, and who still wants to take a bath rather than only shower. If you never take baths, a tub-to-shower conversion is usually the better and less expensive answer, and we will tell you so.
Do I have to sit and wait while it fills and drains?
Yes, to a degree. Because the door seals from the inside, you get in, close the door, and then the tub fills, and it has to drain before you can open the door again. Models differ in how fast they do both. This is the single most common surprise for people new to walk-in tubs, so we would rather you hear it from us before you buy than after.
Can it also work as a shower?
Most models include a handheld shower wand, which lets the tub work for a seated shower as well. If the same bathroom needs to serve someone who prefers a standing shower, raise that at the consultation.
Will it fit my existing bathroom?
