Standard conversions use a low-threshold base that is dramatically easier to step into than a tub wall. If mobility is the reason you are converting, say so at the consultation and we will price a barrier-free entry instead. It is a different base and a different number, and we would rather quote the right one the first time.
Non-Porous Surfaces, No Grout Lines
The wall surround goes in as a system rather than as tile and grout. There are no grout lines for mildew to work into, so keeping the shower clean means wiping it down instead of scrubbing and resealing.

Why convert a tub to a shower?
In most homes one tub goes unused for years while the household showers daily. Converting reclaims that space, makes the bathroom easier to step into, and usually makes the room feel noticeably larger. If stepping over a high tub wall has become difficult, it also removes the single most common fall risk in the bathroom.
Do I lose value by removing my only tub?
It depends on the house. If it is your only bathroom and you expect families with small children to buy it, keeping one tub somewhere in the home is worth considering. If you have more than one bathroom, converting the one you actually use daily is almost always the better trade. We will give you a straight answer at the consultation rather than just selling you the conversion.
How low is the threshold?
The shower base sits far lower than a standard tub wall, which is the entire point. If you want a barrier-free entry rather than a low threshold, tell us at the consultation, that is a different base and we will price it accordingly.
Can you add grab bars and a seat?
Yes. Grab bars, fold-down seating, and handheld shower heads can all be built into the conversion. Because they are installed as part of the system rather than screwed on afterward, they anchor properly into the structure.
How long does it actually take?
A standard tub-to-shower conversion is a one-day installation. Our crew arrives in the morning and the shower is finished and cleaned up before they leave.

Their estimates are reasonable because they don’t charge a fortune to pay for advertising. They let satisfied customers spread the word! We have just had a meeting with SAS Home Solutions. Very friendly, answered all of our questions even helped us answer a few questions about things they are not remodeling for us. Prices are very reasonable, can’t wait to see the finished bathroom. Edit: They started our job and had a few mishaps with ordering, so we had to wait a little while for supplies to come in.
